On 14 February 1945, Antoni Weselik, a long-time employee of the company, re-registered it with Poznań Provincial Office under its original name “C. Hartwig S.A. Oddział w Poznaniu". C.Hartwig, now a state-owned forwarder, reopened between May and June of 1945. It was also back in Gdynia.
In the 60’s, C. Hartwig cooperated with the Gdynia port on implementation of container-based transportation solutions. The very first consignment to be placed in 20-inch containers was meat shipped to Great Britain in July of 1965.
On 1 January 1970, pursuant to a decision of the national authorities, the company was divided into 5 independent state-owned enterprises, each under the name “International Forwarding Company C. Hartwig,” of which C.Hartwig Gdynia took the leading position in handling sea cargo. In 1971, the Ministry of Foreign Trade granted C.Hartwig Gdynia the status of the main container forwarding company, which came as a recognition of the company’s importance.
