The contemporary history of the company began on 1 July 1995, when it was transformed into a single-shareholder joint-stock company of the State Treasury. Only a few months later, C. Hartwig Gdynia was the first of the Hartwig group to become a private joint-stock company.
That moment marked the beginning of the company’s dynamic development at home and abroad. In 2001, following the takeover of the Gdańsk branch, C. Hartwig Gdynia became the leader on the sea transportation market.
Over the next years, the company extended its services to include land and air forwarding. It also took over a leading air forwarder – ACS Cargo.
A significant step in the company’s development was the commencement, in 2003, of cooperation with GeoLogistics – one of the world’s biggest logistics chains. In 2008, the companies seized to cooperate due to differences in strategic objectives. Nevertheless, the former partners stress that the almost 5-year alliance was beneficial for both parties, and that they do not rule out common initiatives in the future.
